HOW TO GO TO FLIGHT REGISTRATION: TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

Not all novice travelers know how to prepare for the check-in. We have prepared answers to several of the most common questions so that you feel comfortable and prepared, as well as avoid fines and unnecessary expenses.
Do I need to print an e-ticket?
If you are planning to fly an ordinary airline, then in most cases a printed ticket is not required, but we recommend to do it. Some airports are allowed only with a ticket, for example, Dabolim Airport in Goa. You may also need a ticket in case of unforeseen circumstances in which only passengers will be allowed into the airport or on board the aircraft.
But if you fly low-cost, then definitely need! Sometimes even tickets in official applications, such as Wizz Air and Ryanair, are not suitable for them, since during registration a physical medium is required (read a paper ticket) on which you will be stamped.
What else do you need to know if you are flying low-cost?
The most important thing is to arrive at the airport on time with an already printed ticket and pre-register online. But those who wish to register on the spot, will have to spend on it from 30 (Wizz Air) to 50 euros (Ryanair).
Possible problems with registration may arise during remote registration if you are flying with a small child, carrying an animal or fragile baggage, then most often you have to register on the spot. If you fail to register online, try to contact support.
What is the baggage allowance?
The surest way to get a ticket at the front desk is for baggage. In order not to get into an unpleasant situation, read the rules of your airline in advance. Most often, for ordinary companies, this rate is 20–23 kg in economy class and 32 kg in business class. The amount of three dimensions of baggage should be less than 158 cm, and if you carry oversized baggage, be sure to notify the company in advance. Luggage above the norm is paid separately at a separate counter, the amount you will be called upon check-in.
Sports equipment (bike, spinning, skiing, etc.) is also charged separately. During the tourist season, for example, in winter, many airlines offer discounts on ski equipment. Check this information on the website when buying a ticket.
What is hand luggage?
Usually it is a suitcase or bag, the dimensions of which are up to 55 * 40 * 20 cm, and weight – up to 10 kg. However, these arbitrary numbers may differ from different airlines. Check this information with your carrier. Things that you need during the flight itself are not included in the carry-on baggage: newspaper, warm clothes, food for the child.
Do I need a credit card during registration?
If you paid for a ticket with a bank card, during the registration process, employees may ask for it. And if you go on a trip by the company and all the tickets were paid by someone alone, it is better to be registered all together. Such a check is not a whim of the airline, but a way to detect and prevent fraud with bank cards.
If you do not have enough space
Overbooking is not a gray airline scheme, but a legal practice, according to which companies sell tickets more than they actually are. This is done in the event that a passenger bought a ticket, but did not board the plane for certain reasons. And then another passenger takes his place. Sometimes it happens that someone does not have enough space (according to statistics, this percentage is insignificant: 6 out of 10 thousand, or 0.06%). In this case, the airline has the right to remove someone from the flight and must fully refund the cost of the ticket.
If you get into this situation, you can go on the next flight, and if you have to wait a long time, you can ask the company for compensation for the hotel and meals. And in order to avoid such troubles, come to the airport in advance and check in on time or do it on the website. And just in case, carry your airline support number.
Can not let on board the aircraft?
It would seem that registration has been completed, everything is in order with luggage, what can prevent you from boarding a plane? Obstacles on the way from the country can be trouble with the law, unpaid fines, ignored military subpoena, a spoiled passport. So if necessary, settle all matters before departure to avoid unpleasant situations.
We hope our advice will be useful to you.
