TO DRINK OR NOT TO DRINK: WHERE TO DRINK ON THE STREET LEGALLY
As for drinking alcohol in the street, there is no single criterion here, and each country has its own laws. Somewhere it all depends on the age of the drinker, somewhere they look at the degree of the drink or the place where you are resting. In order not to flip through the pages of administrative codes and certainly not pay a fine, read the advice of experienced travelers.
Japan
Among the Japanese culture of drinking alcohol outside the house or bar is not. However, the law is not at all prohibited: taste for health even on a bench in the park, even in the city center.
Switzerland
Wine is drunk here from the age of 16, and from 18 alcohol with a high degree is allowed. Regardless of age, you can use any kind of alcohol in Switzerland.
Czech
Here, each municipality decides on its own: what, who can consume it and where, so in view of such flexible alcohol laws in this country, it is better to know in advance the local laws of the region where you are resting.
New Zealand
Just as in the Czech Republic, in New Zealand in some cities it is forbidden to drink alcohol on the street, so pay attention to prohibition signs. However, in most cities of this country are absolutely loyal to the open bottle. The main thing – do not get behind the wheel after tasting.
Italy
Venice and Rome are extremely strictly related to those who drank in the streets, but in Florence the reaction is much more loyal. The main thing – to be of age and behave decently.
Denmark
In this country, it is legal to drink light alcohol at any age. Nevertheless, even beer up to 16 years old is not welcome here and is condemned. But with strong alcoholic beverages can be found only after the execution of 18 years. If you decide to drink beer on a street in Denmark, it is better not to choose pedestrian streets or park alleys that are free from alcohol.
Hong Kong
Persons of adulthood in Hong Kong can drink anything and everywhere.
Germany
Here, as in many other countries, alcozacones are quite flexible. With a bottle, it is not worthwhile to appear except in public transport, but beer lovers manage to take communion there too 🙂
Brazil
In Brazil, the use of alcohol is not just not prohibited, but to some extent even approved. For a drunken state, they will not arrest you for sure, but you can’t be sure about hooligans here.
Belgium
According to Belgian law, you can drink alcohol everywhere. The main thing is to stay within the bounds of decency.
England
In this part of the Kingdom you can drink everywhere and always at the legislative level. Areas free of alcohol are subways and rare pedestrian streets marked with special signs. In any case, if you are culturally spending time, no one will arrest you – only a warning can be issued.
Austria
From the age of 16 in Austria you can drink wine and beer, and from 18 you can drink stronger alcohol. The locality of drinking is not specified in the law – it is possible everywhere where it is not prohibited. And prohibit the use here of special signs, which indicate the degree or territory to which they apply.

As you can see, drinking alcohol on the streets is not prohibited in many countries. Despite this, in Europe, for example, they try to do it in more comfortable conditions in specially designated places. At the same time, at many European festivals and fairs, beer, mulled wine, liqueur and other drinks are poured, but this is not really “drinking outside”.
